This painting, sometimes it looks like it has a rich gold ribbon running through the background, and sometimes it looks like a smoky shadow. So many times I’ve experienced friendships like this. I so much want to find true gold and there are genuine flashes of it but then it switches. Slowly I’m learning to accept relationships as they are: grateful for the golden moments and sharing the grace that has been given to me for those smoky moments.
